This project had my inner bee was buzzing. My friend Cynthia gave me one of these luminary hearts and I decided they would be my valentines this year, so I made 29 of them and was inspired to hang them on one of the pruned branches from our Curly Hazlenut (Henry Lauder’s Walking Stick, aka) and found myself inexplicably delighted by the simple beauty of it. Bry helped me figure out how to hold it on a music stand til the hearts go out into the world. (Sorta want to keep it as a wall hanging, but capturing in photo was good.) It’s been really rainy so when we got some late afternoon light took it outside to capture the luminary aspect of the light coming through the watercolored rice paper. Wanted to capture it in front of the gorgeous bark on our huge Weeping Birch, but the light was never right, so will have to let that go. The preceded an earlier post called “Starmaker” – had so much fun doing these that I was inspired to reach for the stars.
