This equilateral triangle box (5") is constructed with a hinged panel lid, which allows the lid to open flat.
This box design offers the option of hanging on wall as a small shelf, with hinged panel hanging below which could frame calligraphy or other art. A triangular double hexagon accordion book nestles inside the book. |
This sweet box (3x5) includes a small shelf for display or special storage.
Designed with flat-hinged opening panel for the box which allows the box to stand or hung on a wall. The tiny accordion book with a slip holder on the inner door displays the book pages when the box is open. Closure design involves weaving waxed linen thread through the box edge to loop around a decorative bead. |
Everyone loves this idea when I show them my prototypes!
What do you do with those special birthday, holiday, wedding, condolence, Valentine's Day, or Mother's Day cards we've received from loved ones that many of us have stuck away in boxes and don't want to discard but don't know what to do with? The Muse visited and now I'm ready to teach one and all how to transform and preserve those special cards into an expandable yet compact storage and display album artbook. Each book is individually constructed to work with your card collection (which are a variety of sizes), so each book is custom-designed). Board ends are covered with archival decorative papers and an accordion base is constructed which is used to pamphlet-stitch the cards together. A beaded design holds the book closed when stored, and the accordion design allows anyone to view the card album in a variety of ways. |
This surprising construction houses four smaller boxes that cascade out once the topper lid is lifted, releasing the four wall panel that each hold a “stair” of the inner boxes that can hold treasures or be flipped to display the small treasures held within the boxes.
